R.I.P. Juggernaut Duncan

(Andy writing on Cath’s behalf).

It saddens me to tell you that yesterday we discovered that our little baby’s heart was no longer beating.

At this stage, it is unclear why this has happened, and it appears to be unrelated to Cath’s kidney condition that we have been concerned about in this pregnancy.

I think it is fair to say that we are pretty broken, as we have built up such hope and expectation in our little Juggernaut. But we are also confident that we are going to be OK.

Cath and I really appreciate the support we have received from all of you over the last few months. I know that you have all shared in our hope and expectations. Please be assured that (although we know that there is not much to be said) we appreciate hearing from you.

I’ve attached the best photo we have, from a few weeks ago.

Thanks,

Andy and Cath D.

    Dear Cath and Andy,

I understand a little of what you are feeling. I’ve been through a similar situation when we learned our first child had anencephaly. After telling my wife’s family in person and then mine over the phone. We laid down on the bed and I cried for two hours straight.

Remember to reach out for any support you need and if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

Cath and Andy, so sorry to hear about what has happened, life can seem so unfair sometimes. Although we have never met I feel a connection with you, and I want you know how much I have valued the things you have said. You have helped me through some really tough times, and if there is anything I can do to help you now or in the future please just ask. Thinking of you with love and compassion. Andy
